The first good news -the interview.

My excitement was such when I got called for the interview by the Salzburg Committee, that trying to describe my feelings at that moment it's almost impossible. Euphoric might be the most accurate adjective to use. I knew that being called for the interview didn't mean an automatic acceptance to the Seminar, but it did mean that I was among the strongest competitors for the award. This was a good enough achievement for me; but of course not my ultimate goal. I was getting ready for that interview.
Thus, in the few days prior to the interview I familiarized myself with the meaning of globalization, plus some the pros and cons associated with it. I also did extensive research about Salzburg itself. I had started reading about Austria and Salzburg a few months ago while preparing my application for the award, but this time I truly got acquainted with the city's history, geography, etc. The night before the interview I commented to my mom that even if I didn't get to go to the Seminar, it was still going to be a worthwhile experience because of the great amount of knowledge I had acquired.
But my preparation proved to not to be in vain at all. When asked to give information about Salzburg by the interviewers, I flooded the room with facts about the city. The compliments of the committee on how much I knew about the topic gave me the confidence to respond to the rest of the questions well and I left the room rather happy of my performance.
I know had to wait for the final word.
